Graham discussed Trump’s impeachment during his recent appearance on Fox News Sunday. Host Chris Matthews brought up the Senate trial as the main topic and did not forget to mention the 57-43 vote. These were the shortest impeachment proceedings in US history.
Graham said he had contacted the former president Saturday evening. He did reveal that Trump was grateful to his attorneys and people who supported him. The South Carolina Republican will go to Florida next week to visit Trump and encourage him to continue the “MAGA” movement. Trump will have huge success setting the plan for a united Republican Party.
Graham also warned about Democrats who keep overusing their control. Things will take a different turn once the GOP retakes the House.
“I thought the impeachment trial was not only unconstitutional, I condemn what happened on January 6, but the process they used to impeach this president was an affront to rule of law,” Graham noted.
“We’ve opened Pandora’s Box to future presidents. And if you use this model, I don’t know how Kamala Harris doesn’t get impeached if the Republicans take over the House. Because she actually bailed out rioters, and one of the rioters went back to the streets and broke somebody’s head open. So we’ve opened Pandora’s Box here, and I’m sad for the country,” Graham continued.
Harris supported Antifa and BLM protests. She supported the violence. Her attitude added fuel to the fire and crowds went crazy.
Graham reminded everyone that Trump never told his supporters to attack the Capitol. However, he has special thoughts of Trumps’ election-related comments.
“His behavior after the election was over the top,” Graham said, adding that “there was a pre-planned element” to the Jan. 6 violence. He believes that Congress should have a “9/11” type of commission to launch an investigation of the assault. Nancy Pelosi knew about it.
This is a big deal, and authorities need to find the root of the problem. The riots were pre-planned. Simple as that.
