He said that the 2020 election included significant voting irregularities and many instances of officials setting aside state election law.

Pence was the target of some groups in the mob. They called for his hanging.

The Daily Signal published pence’s op-ed, and the conservative Heritage Foundation ran the publication.
A voting rights bill ( H.R.1) is expected to pass on Wednesday.

Firstly, Pence gave his comment regarding this bill and said that it would increase election fraud opportunities.

Trump and his sympathizers were continually saying that the massive fraud contributed to Biden’s win. But, state officials rejected these assertions.

The Justice Department under Trump did an investigation that didn’t find evidence of voting fraud.

Precisely the false claims fueled the mob that caused the Capitol riot.

Secondly, the measures that the voting rights bill includes would “trample the First Amendment, further erode confidence in our elections, and forever dilute the votes of legally qualified eligible voters.”- wrote Pence.

“While legislators in many states have begun work on election reform to restore public confidence in state elections, unfortunately, congressional Democrats have chosen to sweep those valid concerns and reforms aside and to push forward a brazen attempt to nationalize elections in blatant disregard of the U.S. Constitution,” – he continued.

The legislation presented by Democrats would provide mail-voting.

Still, it requires that states establish electronic voter legislation and give the Justice Department higher control and authority to impose voting rights law.

Thirdly, Biden’s White House supported the bill and said that Trump’s effort to overturn the results resulted in pressuring Pence to use the authority he didn’t have.

“In the wake of an unprecedented assault on our democracy, a never before seen effort to ignore, undermine, and undo the will of the people, and a newly aggressive attack on voting rights taking place right now all across the country, this landmark legislation is urgently needed to protect the right to vote and the integrity of our elections, and to repair and strengthen American democracy,” – stated the White House.
