One hundred sixty patients died!
More than 10,000 coronavirus infections were reported among the fully vaccinated people against the virus.
Forty-six U.S. states and territories reported 10,262 breakthrough cases until April 30 to the CDC. These cases emerged two or three weeks after the second dose of the jab. They appear primary after the double Pfizer/Moderna dose, but it is possible to appear after the first dose of the J&J vaccine.

Of 10 cases, 6 of them were females (approximately 58 years.) About 10% of the cases needed hospital care, and 160 (2%) ended up fatally. Data show that three from 10 hospitalized patients were admitted for a cause not linked to coronavirus.
The age of the breakthrough cases’ deaths is around 82 years. Twenty-eight deaths happened unrelated to coronavirus and patients without symptoms.
For 555 of the breakthrough cases, sequencing data were available. More than sixty percent are categorized as stemming from variants, including the B.1.1.7 from the U.K.
In the U.S., more than 101 million people got two doses of the vaccines until April 30.
“The number of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and deaths that will be prevented among vaccinated persons will far exceed the number of vaccine breakthrough cases,” researchers announced.
Nevertheless, the agency learned the numbers it released are subject to two limitations.
“First, the number of reported COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough cases is likely a substantial undercount” because the data are a national surveillance system relying on passive and voluntary reporting. Also, sequence data are available only for a low number of the reported cases.
The CDC analyzes the effectiveness of the shot and will collect info on breakthrough infections.
Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of the Brown University School of Public Health, announced three shots authorized for emergency served very well.
“These vaccines are way better than I would have predicted a year ago, but they’re not 100 percent. Nothing in life is 100 percent. So, yeah, we’re going to see some breakthrough infections, exceedingly rare, and exceedingly rare that you’re going to get sick if you get infected,”
The CDC shared that 47 States reported 353 death among fully vaccinated, and we have 1,811 hospitalizations.
“No evidence that vaccination contributed to patient deaths,” CDC stated.
The CDC’s report emerged on the same day researchers no affiliated with the university said that variants are overrepresented through breakthrough cases. The researchers noted that they analyzed more than 5,000 contemporaneous samples and found that the variants were “significantly enriched among breakthrough infections.”
