NFL Players Are Pushing Back Against The League’s COVID-19 Vaccine Rules

The NFL has new rules

And players don’t like them. Simple as that. Several football players have expressed their “concerns” about the new rules.

The National Football League has a new rule for teams. NFL teams will have to forfeit games if there’s a coronavirus outbreak amongst unvaccinated players.

Arizona Cardinals star wideout DeAndre Hopkins heard about the new rule and tweeted the following:

“Never thought I would say this, but being put in a position to hurt my team because I don’t want to partake in the vaccine is making me question my future in the NFL”.

Coaches have to get the vaccine and players have an option to choose. Well, the new policy affects unvaccinated players. They will be segregated from vaccinated players on flights, in locker rooms, hotels, and even during lunches.

The NFL made everything hard for unvaccinated players. They will keep making life a living hell until they accept the experimental jab.

The New York Post has more:

Some of the NFL’s star players aren’t exactly on board with the league’s new COVID-19 forfeit rules.

On Thursday, NFL Network shared a memo from the league telling teams that games cannot be rescheduled due to a COVID-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players, and that teams will be forced to forfeit games with playoff seeding — and paycheck — implications.

Some players were quick to voice their opinions on the matter.

“Never thought I would say this, but being put in a position to hurt my team because I don’t want to partake in the vaccine is making me question my future in the NFL,” Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins wrote in a quickly deleted tweet.

Hopkins cited in another since-deleted post his girlfriend’s brother, who the wideout says got the vaccine and “had heart problems right after.”

Neither the league nor the NFL Players Association have mandated vaccines for players, instead agreeing to protocols that restrict the activities of players who have not received one.

Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey addressed the new rule, too:

Unvaccinated players will be fined up to $14,000 for not wearing face masks.

ESPN reported the following:

Unvaccinated NFL players will be subjected to a fine of $14,650 every time they violate COVID-19 procedures.

A spotlight was put on the punishment after a report that Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians would fine a player “$14,000 on the spot every time he isn’t wearing a mask or is breaking a protocol.”

The article did not directly quote Arians and did not specify whether it was a team rule or a league rule, leading some to speculate that Arians was instituting this fine as his own personal rule.

“NFL policy,” Arians told ESPN in a text message. “League rules.”

League spokesperson Brian McCarthy confirmed to ESPN that Arians “was correct” in his understanding of the NFL’s rule.

The stipulations place a premium on wearing appropriate PPE and offer restrictions on the number of people and types of venues players may gather in for social or team-related purposes.
