Amanda Pendarvis is the mother of the kid that was expelled from a flight on Monday. The incident happened because his son had an asthma attack, so he had to take off the mask.

The National File reported: ‘’Despite the flight attendant announcing the incident to the whole plane, describing her son as a “non-compliant traveler,” the majority of passengers did not speak up about what was happening, she added. “There was one man behind us who was standing up to [the flight attendant] telling him how [insane and irrational] he was being,” Pendarvis wrote, adding that several other passengers mouthed “I am sorry.”’’

We have disturbing footage on Instagram where the son is crying and can’t wear the mask.

American Airlines stated that flight AA1284 from Dallas Forth Worth returned to the gate to expel a family. “Initial reports indicate the party refused to comply with crew member instructions to remain seated and wear a face mask securely over their nose and mouth,” the statement continued.

“After agreeing to adhere to federal face-covering requirements, all individuals were rebooked for travel on the next flight to Colorado Springs (COS),” the statement moved on.

In it, we couldn’t find any statements about an asthma attack, but we could hear about American Airlines policy about the face masks: “all individuals two and older to wear a face-covering at all times while indoors at the airport and onboard.”

The policy asks everyone on the plane to wear masks, and those who need medical exemption have to apply for one 72 hours prior to the departure.

Asthma isn’t a CDC’s medical exemption policy for public transport, but exemptions exist for individuals who can’t take the masks off if they struggle for breath, as is the case with the young boy.
