A spokesman for District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. (D) stated that the office received the Trump Tax Returns on Monday. Supreme Court’s decision to reject shielding the documents resulted in this development.

CNN first reported this news. They declared that prosecutors received a million pages of documents, including the tax returns from January 2011 to August 2019. Those documents also included papers for preparation and review of the tax returns.
The Hill published:
‘’The district attorney’s office obtained the documents from Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars USA, which it had subpoenaed in 2019 as part of a grand jury investigation.’’
They started the investigation to track the payments before the 2016 presidential election to keep quiet the two women who stated they had affairs with Trump.
Prosecutors also searched for a possible financial criminal by Trump Organization.
After some time, Trump sued to ban the subpoena. The Supreme Court disagreed with Trump’s argument that the presidents have sweeping immunity from the criminal process. And this case went back to the lower courts.
All the documents located at Vance’s office are confidential so that they won’t become public for a long time.
In the past couple of years, Trump paid little to no federal income taxes, stated The New York Times last fall.
