The US Vice President has not moved to the Naval Observatory. We all know that the Blair House is the official guest house. It is located across from the President’s home. Yes, the White House.

As you may be guessing, the Naval Observatory is being renovated right now. So, China can build a COVID hospital in less than a week, and Joe Biden cannot finish a simple renovation? Yes, there are codes and protocols. But, the Inauguration took place on Jan. 20. They had plenty of time to finish the job.

CBS reported that Harris won’t move into the vice president’s residence “due to the need for some repairs to the house.” According to sources, staffers will replace chimney liners and perform other household maintenance.

HHere is what CBS had to add to the story:

Vice President Kamala Harris won’t immediately move into the vice president’s residence at the Naval Observatory in northwest Washington, D.C., that is traditionally used by vice presidents, an aide for Harris told CBS News. The aide said that the delay is due to the need for some repairs to the home.

Because Harris won’t be staying at the house at One Observatory Circle immediately, it will “allow for repairs to the home that are more easily conducted with the home unoccupied,” the aide said. Chimney liners need to be replaced and other household maintenance will be performed, now that Vice President Mike Pence and his family have moved out.

WBOY News had more details:

Vice President Kamala Harris can’t beat the work commute.

She’s living temporarily at Blair House, the president’s official guest residence on Pennsylvania Avenue across from the White House, while some repair work is done at the official vice presidential home a few miles away on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory.

Harris moved into Blair House the day after the Jan. 20 inauguration, said spokesperson Symone Sanders.
