AP reported a story about this. Trump and his allies wanted to make Babbitt a martyr, and the article said that she was “far more complicated than the heroic picture presented by Trump and his allies.”

Even if she did that, it isn’t essential, but her behavior on J6 shows that she doesn’t deserve to be a martyr.

The article speaks about Babbitt’s affair with her coworker, who had a long-term girlfriend. Babbitt rammed Norris’ car in traffic and jumped out and screamed through the locked doors. Later tried to get restraining orders against Babbitt and got many of them.

The entire story is interesting, and it has nothing to do with Babbitt’s death. On the other hand, the events of that day show that she wasn’t that kind of a person as the president and his supporters presented her.

She wanted to enter the Speaker’s Lobby while other people were still evacuated. She tried to get into the room, but she got confronted by Capitol Police officers and killed.

The district attorney said that Bland wasn’t a model person. Ferguson police officer Michael Brown was killed, and the NYT reported that he wasn’t an angel. When Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd, many people said that Floyd died from an overdose and he wasn’t an angel but a drug addict.

Even if Bland was violent, Brown had a history of violence too, and Floyd was a drug addict, but that wasn’t something that justifies the police officer’s actions.
