On Friday, Anthony Cuomo, New York Governor, declared that he would not resign, regardless of whether he faces accusations. The State Democratic lawmakers opened an impeachment investigation regarding his case. According to the Governor, these lawmakers are “reckless” and dangerous in a conference with reporters.
Vast House Democrats asked for Cuomo’s resignation after Democrats in the State Assembly started an impeachment investigation. On the same day, another woman, Jessica Bakeman, accused him of sexual harassment, becoming the seventh woman that pressed charges against him.
According to her, Cuomo touched her inappropriately.
“He uses touching and sexual innuendo to stoke fear in us. That is the textbook definition of sexual harassment.”
Governor Cuomo currently struggles with the critics of his mishandling the pandemic and his rude orders. He ordered the nursing homes to accept COVID-19 positive cases from the hospitals. He did the same with the group homes for people with disabilities.
Regarding the sexual accusations, Cuomo didn’t want to comment, and he advised to wait for the end of the investigation.
“There are often manymotivations for making an allegation. And that is why you need to know the facts before you make a decision. There are now two reviews underway. No one wants them to happen more quickly and more thoroughly than I do. Let them do it,”
“I’m not going to argue this issue in the press. That is not how it is done; that is not the way it should be done. Serious allegations should be weighed seriously, right? That’s why they are called serious,”
Also, Cuomo emphasized a vast difference between facts and opinions.
Furthermore, the governor harshly criticized the politicians who asked for his resignation. He said that they don’t distinguish between fact and opinion, and they jump up to conclusions.
Anthony Cuomo also said that the politicians that positions for political expediency.
“People know the difference between playing politics, bowing to cancel culture, and the truth,”
“Let the review proceed. I’m not going to resign; I was not elected by the politicians; I was elected by the people.”

After answering reporters’ questions, Cuomo concluded:
“Politics is part of all of this. But I just will focus on my job. In the meantime, I want to make it clear that what is being alleged just did not happen. The last allegation is not true, and I’ve not had a sexual relationship that was inappropriate, period.”
