This decision will ease things in fall. In this way, middle and high schools can operate without any issues. That’s what they say.

The FDA reviewed the application from Pfizer and BioNTech and went through the findings of the clinical trial conducted in late March. Vaccines are effective in youngsters and have the ability to produce a strong antibody response. These jabs cause the same side effects as in older people.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will meet Wednesday to review the findings. They will also vote on recommendations for use of vaccines in adolescents. Once the director sign off, Pfizer vaccines can be administered immediately.

People aged 16 and older are eligible for the vaccine. Moderna and Johnson&Johnson are only approved for adults. However, they are also testing it on children.

Children need to get vaccines to increase the overall level of immunity in the nation.

“Today’s action allows for a younger population to be protected from COVID-19, bringing us closer to returning to a sense of normalcy and to ending the pandemic,” acting FDA Commissioner Janet Woodcock said in a statement. “Parents and guardians can rest assured that the agency undertook a rigorous and thorough review of all available data, as we have with all of our COVID-19 vaccine emergency use authorizations.”

Kids have a lower risk of developing severe symptoms, but adolescents and teenagers are at risk.

Pfizer will request emergency use authorization for the COVID-19 jabs to be administered in kids aged 2 to 11 in September.

More than 260 million doses have been administered nationwide which is 40 percent of the entire population.

The country has a surplus of vaccine supply. Over 68 million doses were delivered but not administered. Some states order a lower number of shots.

Joe Biden and his administration force Americans to get the vaccine. His plan doesn’t work.

“This is a promising development in our fight against the virus,” Biden said in a statement Monday evening. “If you are a parent who wants to protect your child, or a teenager who is interested in getting vaccinated, today’s decision is a step closer to that goal.”

A poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation confirmed limited eagerness for parents to get their kids vaccinates.

Of all parents who have at least one kid aged between 12 and 15, 30 percent said they’ll get the kid vaccinated. About 26 percent would wait to see if vaccines work and 18 percent will vaccinate their children if their kid’s school requires the jab. About 23 percent wouldn’t get their kids vaccinated.
