Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern spoke to the population and advised them not to talk to each other after the first infected case after six months,
“Don’t talk to your neighbors. Please, keep to your bubbles,” Jacinda Ardern advised the New Zealanders.
“We only get one chance,” she stated. “The best thing we can do to get out of this as quickly as we can is to go hard.”
“We have made the decision on the basis that it is better to start high and go down levels rather than to go low, not contain the virus and see it move quickly.”

Reuters reported that Auckland, where the infected case emerged, will be lockdown for a week. The rest of New Zealand will be in lockdown for three days.
