Sen. Dianne Feinstein tries to ban AR-15s
The “Assault Weapons Ban of 2021” has at least 34 Senate Democrat co-sponsors. The new ban is making headlines, and Feinstein is trying to finish the job.

Feinstein’s bill would ban 205 different firearms. This includes different variants of the AR-15 rifles.
The New York Post reported the Senator is citing “domestic terrorism” as a reason for her ban.
“We’re now seeing a rise in domestic terrorism, and military-style assault weapons are increasingly becoming the guns of choice for these dangerous groups.”
The new bill would also ban ammunition magazines that have more than 10 rounds.
On November 7, 2020, Breitbart News reported about National Shooting Sports Foundation figures confirming US citizens own more than 71 million pistol magazines capable of having more than ten rounds and “79.2 million rifle magazines capable of holding 30 or more rounds.”
These figures suggest that Americans have 20 million modern sporting rifles. Democrats categorize these firearms as “assault weapons.”
Feinstein also released a supplemental fact sheet on the “assault weapons” ban. They suggest these firearms are “weapons designed for war [that] have no place on the streets of a civilized society.”
