On December 22, 2021, Mayor Bowser mandated the vaccines for all people older than 12, and they have to show proof of their vaccination status to enter specific establishments and facilities.

The establishments that would ask for vaccination proof are restaurants, bars, nightclubs, indoor entertainment establishments, theatres, concert venues, gyms, etc.

The vaccine isn’t mandatory to enter houses of worship, grocery stores, pharmacies, urgent care centers, hospitals, etc.

“Remember that starting Saturday, you will need these three things before heading out:

Proof of Vaccination (12 years +)
Proof of Vaccination and Photo ID (18 years +)

Twitter users mocked the fact that for the vaccination status, they need valid photo I.D., but that wasn’t necessary for the voting process, where it was regarded as a racist move.

Tea Party Patriots were among the ones who highlighted the double standards, “You’ll need an I.D. to go inside a McDonald’s in D.C., but not to vote…Beyond parody.” Former Daily Wire and Townhall contributor Beth Baumann also chimed in on that front, noting, “Since you’re okay with showing a photo I.D. to get into a restaurant, you support I.D.s for voting, right?”
