COVID-19 was here long before they confirmed the leak
The global scientific establishment didn’t want to reveal the true source of the pandemic. The laboratory origin was suspected right after the pandemic broke.

International business, mainstream media… They all played part of the game. Someone within the US government and members of the US scientific community tried to protect Wuhan, China, from responsibility. This was their way of protecting their interests.
By January 13, 2020, people were already talking that Chinese laboratories manufactured COVID-19. People were saying that US scientists helped China obtain the knowledge to develop a virus. Dr. Zheng-Li Shi at the Wuhan Institute of Virology got enough help. Dr. Ralph Baric at the University of North Carolina was of great help in the process.
On January 26, 2020, Bill Gertz wrote a nice article for Washington Times.
“The deadly animal-borne coronavirus spreading globally may have originated in a laboratory in the city of Wuhan linked to China’s covert biological weapons program.”
On February 3, 2020, Kelvin Droegemeier, part of the Republican establishment and then Director of the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP), penned a letter to Dr. Marcia McNutt, president of the National Academy of Sciences.
He was asking, “The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) to rapidly examine the information and identify data requirements that would help determine the origins of 2019-nCoV, specifically from an evolutionary/structural biology standpoint.”
This concern was precipitated by an obscure Indian study “Uncanny similarity of unique inserts in the 2019-nCoV spike protein to HIV-1 gp120 and Hag.”
A group of scientists was set to respond to OSTP’s request.
Those scientists were Kristian G. Andersen (Scripps Research Institute), Ralph Baric (UNC School of Public Health), Trevor Bedford (Fred Hutchinson Cancer Institute), Aravinda Chakravarti (New York University School of Medicine), Peter Daszak (EcoHealth Alliance), Gigi K. Gronvall (Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health), Tom Inglesby (Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security), and Stanley Perlman (University of Iowa).
The National Academy of Science’s letter to OSTP supported the contention provided by China’s Communist Party government suggesting that the pandemic was a naturally-occurring transmission from bats to humans.
The three presidents of the National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine said that America should keep working with China, including the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Wuhan Institute of Virology.
Most of the experts consulted for the National Academy of Science response had a history of collaboration with Chinese experts or had big support for China and the coronavirus theory.
The final National Academy of Sciences response from February 6, 2020, has little resemblance to the first draft from February 4, 2020.
On March 7, 2020, Peter Daszak and Stanley Perlman wrote an article in the British medical journal The Lancet.
“We stand together to strongly condemn conspiracy theories suggesting that COVID-19 does not have a natural origin.”
On March 17, 2020, Kristian G. Andersen was senior author of the article “The proximal origin of SARS-CoV-2,” claiming that the coronavirus virus was “not a purposefully manipulated virus.”
On September 21, 2020, Gigi K. Gronvall joined the Johns Hopkins University team and penned a criticism of Chinese whistleblower, Dr. Li-Meng Yan, who provided evidence that the coronavirus was developed in a laboratory.
Neil Patel in the Daily Signal, Peter Daszak from the World Health Organization team is close to Zheng-Li Shi. He was also a big supporter of sending US taxpayer funds to Wuhan.
