Coast Guard Offloads Largest Narcotics Haul In U.S. History

The worst has yet to come

The Coast Guard Cutter James crew was able to offload about 59,700 pounds of cocaine. They also offloaded about 1,430 pounds of marijuana Thursday. According to experts, the material was worth more than $1.4 billion which makes it the biggest drug offload in Coast history.

The coast Guard notes that the drugs were seized in 20 separate rations along the Easter Pacific Ocean and Caribbean Sea in the last few weeks. There’s ongoing investigation into some of these seizures.

Capt. Todd Vance said that the drugs on their flight deck represents all the lives they saved in big cities and small towns that deal with increased number of drug overdose.

New York City, Philly, Chicago, Los Angeles, and many other cities deal with the same problem. A lot of people have lost their lives. Drugs kill people and the death rate is really high in big cities.

“Every bail of cocaine on this flight deck that doesn’t make it to our shores represents lives saved in New York City, Philly, Chicago, Los Angeles, or any small town that’s dealing with pandemic levels of drug overdoses this year,” said Capt. Todd Vance.

“Interdicting these drugs ensure that the seas remain open for legitimate, peaceful purposes,” said USCG Vice Admiral Steven Poulin.

Their efforts won’t stop here. Special USGC Operations Specialists 2nd Class Jonathan Centerno said they have so much to do in the area right now. They did all this in three months. This seems to be the tip of the iceberg.

“It just shows how much work still needs to be done. The fact that this is done in only three months, it just shows that we’re doing our jobs there’s still a lot more to be done,” sent Centerno.

The process will end with the disposal of seized drugs as confirmed by officials.

The nation has been dealing with the same problem since forever. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their loved ones to drugs. Addicts who are still alive deal with a lot of financial and physical health issues. They lose their families, homes, and jobs. The streets are filled with zombie-like addicts who wander around.
