US states have reported the new cases to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In the recent update, the CDC reported that at least 7,157 Americans who were fully vaccinated against the coronavirus still got the CCP (Chinese Communist Party).
About 64% of all cases were among women. About 46% were among women and men aged 60 or older.
At least 500 people who got COVID despite getting the shots had to be admitted to a hospital. About a third of their conditions were unrelated to the virus. About 88% or 1% of the breakthrough patients have died. Here’s more. Eleven of all deaths didn’t show any symptoms or weren’t related to the disease.

The CDC first reported these cases on April 15. According to the new update, there are 1,343 cases. The new numbers are through April 20. The CDC will update these numbers every Friday as confirmed by a spokeswoman.
Their current system relies on voluntary reports from state health departments which means the number of breakthrough cases may be even higher.
As of April 23, at least 91 million citizens are fully vaccinated. These individuals have received their second Moderna or Pfizer dose, or their single-shot Johnson & Johnson shot, two or several weeks prior.
None of these vaccines offer full protection. That’s why health officials and experts aren’t concerned about these cases.
“While there are breakthrough cases and they are not surprising, they are exceedingly rare and in no way undermine the value of mass vaccination. Moreover, the breakthrough cases are uniformly less severe, showing the benefits of even imperfect immunity,” S. Mark Tompkins, professor of infectious disease at the University of Georgia, told The Epoch Times in an email.
The CDC believes thousands of such cases will occur, as noted by the spokeswoman. “Vaccine breakthrough infections make up a small percentage of people who are fully vaccinated. CDC recommends that all eligible people get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as one is available to them. CDC also continues to recommend people who have been fully vaccinated should keep taking precautions in public places, like wearing a mask, staying at least 6 feet apart from others, avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces, and washing their hands often,” she added.
The CDC is monitoring reported cases for clustering and their information relies on demographics, geographic location, time since vaccination, vaccine type, and virus lineage. They will soon investigate only the breakthrough cases that led to hospitalization or even death.
