The Senate voted to acquit him on the articles of impeachment, so he is officially still eligible to run for office again in the future.
Once again, after Dems fell short with only 57 votes, the former President reigned victorious!

Moments after the vote concluded, Trump issued a statement to praise his legal team and to thank the senators and other members of Congress “who stood proudly for the Constitution we all revere and for the sacred legal principles at the heart of our country.”
He said:
“This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our Country. No president has ever gone through anything like it.”
