Insider said that a state department representative reported that the U.S. complained to China once they realized that staffers were forced to use an anal swab as a way of conducting COVID-19 tests.
The representative declared:
“The State Department never agreed to this kind of testing and protested directly to the Minister of Foreign Affairs when we learned that some staff were subject to it,”
China justified the action and said that those tests were a mistake! The diplomats were exempt from the test!
Zhao Lijian, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, said that he did the check-up, on his Thursday press briefing. They concluded that China never required anal swab tests from U.S. diplomatic staff once they did the check-up.
We couldn’t immediately conclude how the diplomats and their families did the tests.
The test includes a cotton-tipped swab two inches in the rectum, then rotate it to collect material.
The State Department said that this humiliated American diplomats.

Li Tongzeng is a respiratory and infectious disease expert. He stated for BBC that this unusual way of testing “avoid missing infections as virus traces are detectable for a longer time than the more common COVID tests used in the mouth and nose.”
Simultaneously, Li insisted that anal swab tests were necessary only for those under quarantine orders.
