Afghan Refugee Faces Major Blowback After Complaining About “Bad Food” At Ft. Bliss Refugee Camp

At the age of 28, an Afghan refugee tweeted to complain about the food rations he got at Ft. Bliss from his iPhone.

We saw the image of the food he received, and it isn’t some wealthy meat, but it is food. People should be humble and grateful that they are eating, in fact. His move is ungrateful.
New York Post reported that the Afghan experienced harsh criticism because he tweeted an image of the foot he got at Fort Bliss in El Paso.
Hamel Ahmadi, 28, is a Fulbright semi-finalist, and he shared a photo of anemic chicken slices and fruit to share the unglamorous life he lives as a refugee.
“The point of that tweet was not … to be complaining, to be very critical,” Mr. Ahmadi told The Independent. “I was just describing a situation of Afghan refugees that are in the situation that they never really wanted to be in.”
Twitter wasn’t the right place to share such information, and he was criticized and advised by the other account to go back to Afghanistan.
“If I had more space [on Twitter], I would have added more explanation – because I wanted to say that this is the refugee life. And we need to be patient,” Ahmadi stated.
