He said that the two doses of the company’s vaccine couldn’t give the people the protection needed against the infection from the C-19 Omicron variant, and the shots have lost their efficacy at preventing hospitalizations.

Bourla talked at a healthcare conference where he pointed out the importance of the third and now the fourth jab.

“The two doses, they’re not enough for omicron,” Bourla said. “The third dose of the current vaccine is providing quite good protection against deaths and decent protection against hospitalizations.”

“The question mark, it is how long that protection lasts with the third dose,” Bourla said.

But, in his latest interview, he emphasized that people would have to take the fourth booster dose and have higher protection against Omicron.

Also, he shared that they are trying to find a vaccine that will work for both Delta and Omicron variants to save as many lives as possible.

He stated that he is disappointed with the vaccine efficacy, which is something that we have to emphasize because if they aren’t effective, why are they still promoting them?
